Stephanie Douglas (Detroit, MI), Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of EPC, built her company with a mission rooted in personal experience. After playing NCAA Division I basketball at the University of Michigan (2002), Temple University (2003-2004), and Ball State (2005-2007)—where she graduated in 2007—Douglas faced immense challenges in her pursuit of a professional career.
Her dream of playing professionally nearly faded after a chaotic college career filled with multiple transfers and limited playing time. Without standout stats or film, agents refused to sign her, and coaches wouldn’t take a chance. But rather than accept defeat, Douglas found another way.
She initially put her dream on hold, spending four years as a collegiate basketball coach at the University of Detroit Mercy (NCAA Division I) and Adrian College (NCAA Division III). Yet, while mentoring athletes, she remained committed to her own journey—training relentlessly while also earning a Master’s in Athletic Administration from the University of Detroit Mercy.
Knowing that traditional pathways weren’t working, Douglas took control of her own career. She attended a professional basketball combine in Germany, where she secured an agent, expanded her network, gained updated film and photos, and ultimately landed contracts to play professionally in Germany and Spain. Her breakthrough moment came when she was signed by the world-famous Harlem Globetrotters as a female dribbler, turning her dream into reality.
Empowering Players to Take Control
After navigating the challenges of the professional basketball world firsthand, Douglas founded EPC to help athletes take control of their careers. She understands the obstacles that aspiring pros face and works directly with overseas teams, general managers, fellow agents, and coaches to help players secure contracts.
As a WNBPA-certified agent, Douglas is committed to integrity, loyalty, and trust in every partnership. She prides herself on building meaningful relationships with players, GMs, agents, coaches, and team owners, operating with honesty, transparency, and a genuine love for the game.
What sets EPC International Sports Agency apart is its leadership. Douglas is not only a certified agent but also a current law student, bringing an additional layer of expertise to contract negotiations and player advocacy. In a profession where disputes, contract issues, and unforeseen challenges can arise, having an agent who is on the path to becoming an attorney provides a powerful advantage. Players represented by EPC don’t just get an agent—they get a future legal advocate who understands their rights, protects their interests, and ensures they have proper recourse in the event of any contractual or professional disputes.
